Daniel 10 opens as a continuation from chapter 9 with the being that was speaking then, opening Chapter 10. Daniel fully understands a vision concerning a distant future but it was so troubled by it that it drives him into three weeks of mourning and partial fasting, with its meaning—revealed later—centered on grievous events for Israel. The chapter then shifts entirely to supernatural activity, unveiling unseen spiritual warfare. Multiple beings appear: a glorious “certain man” whose description closely parallels Christ in Revelation 1 (suggesting a pre-incarnate appearance), along with other angelic figures who touch, strengthen, and speak to Daniel, indicating layered heavenly involvement and evil spiritual resistance. The narrative reveals that Daniel’s prayers were heard immediately, yet resisted by the powerful territorial spiritual rulers who delayed but could not stop God’s messengers.

Daniel Chapter 9
In Daniel Chapter 8 we see the players of Alexander the Great and Cyrus of Persia. We also see the concept of "already but not yet" as Daniel is foretold about two events. The first terrible event happened about 380 years after the writing of Daniel. The second terrible event, which will be like, but much worse than the first event, will happen in the "Time of the End" specifically in the "Time of Trouble."
